John Marshall Ballrooms Wedding – Richmond VA Wedding Photographer

John Marshall Ballrooms Wedding – A metallic infused Richmond, VA summer ballroom wedding.

Dana and John planned a gorgeous summer soiree this past Saturday at the John Marshall Ballrooms in downtown Richmond. This day could not have been prettier! The John Marshall already has so many stunning architectural details, and loving them so much Dana wanted to incorporate them into the wedding details with her beautiful metallic pieces found throughout the day in many forms. From some stunning bridesmaid gowns (check out the backs!!) to some seriously pretty heels that remind me of another decade, Dana completely transformed the John Marshall space into an area that it was definitely meant for! I loved every special touch – Dana even had a custom cake topper made to surprise John featuring the two of them in their wedding attire with a little Hokie bird poking out from behind to celebrate their time together and meeting at Virginia Tech.

These two lovelies met at Virginia Tech and started out just as friends. When they graduated, John moved to Texas and called dana to reconnect (pretty sure they were always destined to be more than friends!). Dana visited him and Texas and their love story started to unfold. Between long distance dating these two let their love grow across the country until they were able to finally join each other in Texas. John proposed to her in the same restaurant where they had gone on a date the first time Dana had visited! These two are so romantic, so sweet, and so adorable and the love they have for each other is the kindest. Dana’s smile lights up a room (she’s truly the sweetest) and it’s so obvious John is her soulmate. Congratulations you two!

Captain Bill’s Bayview House Wedding – A nautical waterfront summer wedding in Long Island, NY

You may remember Kellie and Ethan from their sweet spring Charleston, SC engagement. We explored the gorgeous Magnolia Plantation and Folly Beach and I am so honored to have traveled down south to capture these two for their engagement session and also to have gone all the way to Long Island, NY, to photograph their amazing wedding day.

These two are some of the sweetest people around, and with all the love from family and friends that arrived to show their support as they exchanged vows it was a really beautiful day despite the down pouring rain.

Kelli put a lot of personal touches into the day from choosing a soft teal for her bridesmaid dresses (her favorite color) to keeping a really light and airy nautical color scheme carried throughout the reception to embrace the location of Captain Bill’s Bayview House.  Surrounded by some gorgeous boats and yachts, it was a classic waterfront wedding that was simply a stunner.

This wedding embraced Kellie and Ethan’s passion for their heritage and hosted some really fun Irish dancing with the help of their amazing band – Dane Wright Band. They had some other unique Irish touches on the cake, invitations, and throughout the day to celebrate their love of their Irish heritage.

It was a beautiful day with two of the loveliest people around!

Trump Winery Wedding – Charlottesville Wedding Photographer

Trump Winery Wedding – A Summery Cranberry and Gold Charlottesville Vineyard Wedding at Trump Winery – Charlottesville Wedding Photographer

Alexa and Mike exchanged vows this past Sunday at one of my all time favorite venues in Charlottesville – Trump Winery – in front of that gorgeous willow tree they have. The sun was definitely out and about on their big day, and they had a sweet, intimate gathering of friends and family to share in their celebration.

Trump is such a gorgeous venue in many ways – there is no shortage of spectacular views and Alexa + Mike were able to take advantage of what their venue already had to offer and blended their wedding type seamlessly along with it. Their gorgeous color palette of rich cranberry hues and pops of gold gave a very bold infusion that went along very nicely with all the deep wood tones and ivy colored walls. The arbor for their ceremony was gorgeous and draped with some stunning florals that were blended perfectly with the willow tree behind it.

These two have such a sweet love that was evident throughout the whole day and from the moment I met them during their engagement session in VA Beach last year. Their wedding truly reflected them, and you would tell how relaxed every guest was who attended, but they weren’t afraid to get out on the dance floor and have a dance-off either!

Charlottesville Engagement Photographer

Charlottesville Engagement Photographer – A Summer Charlottesville Engagement at The Saunders-Monticello Trail and Riverview Park along the Rivanna River – Charlottesville Engagement Photos

When Lauren told me about the ideas she and Taylor had for their engagement session, I was pretty excited!! They wanted to incorporate some pretty cool ideas that were definitely unique and special to their relationship and reflected their fun-loving, outdoorsy personalities. These two enjoy spending their time together in Charlottesville where their super gorgeous winter wedding at Farmington Country Club is going to be this December (I can’t wait!) and who could blame them? I got to explore some new gorgeous spots that I hadn’t seen yet with them, and I wouldn’t have wanted to spend time with two people other than these sweet loves.

We started at the Saunders-Monticello Trail near Carter Mountain and Taylor and Lauren were ready to go with their hammock for the first round of their super cool personal touches for their session! I’ve never had a couple bring a hammock to their session before, so this was a neat addition, and definitely had me wanting to buy one of my own! What made it even better was how well these two cuddled, always a plus! You can’t have a hammock and not have a snugglefest.

Charlottesville has so much gorgeous scenery, so we were able to take advantage of all the gorgeous woodland areas and flowers, and river nearby as well. Lauren and Taylor showed off their sporty side with some running and braved the somewhat murky river with me for some more adventurous shots (and it was worth it). These two are sweet and adorable beyond compare, and I couldn’t be more excited for their wedding in December!!

Castle Hill Cider Wedding – Charlottesville Wedding Photographer

Castle Hill Cider Wedding – Vibrant Spring Charlottesville Wedding – Charlottesville Wedding Photographer

Meaghan + Dan make the sweetest duo you will ever meet. Mentioned in one of the toasts by their sweet friends was the statement that they act like two teenagers in love, and it’s completely true. They look at each other with eyes so completely full of adoration, joy and all-consuming love that it truly puts the biggest smile on your face being around them! They give off a radiant energy and witnessing their love for one another is such a special moment.

When I met up with these two during their DC engagement session last year, I loved every minute with them. They have such a fun energy and they wanted that to be reflected in their wedding day. Every detail was gorgeous and representative of the perfect spring wedding. You could see every guest was at ease and simply enjoying every moment, and Meaghan and Dan were able to spend the entire cocktail hour mingling with their guests and spending quality time with the people they care the most about (a really special thing on your wedding day!).

With a venue as breathtaking as Castle Hill Cider in Keswick, VA, you already know the day is going to be a stunner. Even with rain and storms, Meaghan and Dan were able to enjoy a flawless ceremony that remained untouched by the rain until they recessed at the very end! I love every detail and every moment from this wedding from her gorgeous Katie May gown to the donuts provided by the Carpe Donut truck during the reception, and of course all the flowers!!
