Richmond VA Engagement – Richmond Wedding Photographer

Richmond VA Engagement – A sweet engagement session in the heart of downtown Richmond, VA.

Gabby and Brian have such a sweet love story. They met while attending VCU (both super creative people!).  These two share a deep love for music and it’s one of the things that brought them together in the first place!

They are planning a vibrant and colorful wedding next fall in Richmond and from what Gabby has already described, it’s going to be incredible and packed with amazing people.

We spent this past weekend strolling around some pretty places in Richmond because this city is so special to the both of them and where their love story began. It’s pretty obvious how much they adore each other, and they both have the most stunning smiles ever!

Fall Trump Winery Wedding – Charlottesville Wedding Photographer

Fall Trump Winery Wedding – The perfect vineyard wedding to kick off fall wedding season in Charlottesville.

Lindsey and Steven are two of the coolest people I have ever met. You feel instantly at ease around them, and anyone who has as much sarcasm as I do is always the perfect couple for me. We got to explore Richmond together during their engagement session in the spring where I learned more about their wedding plans for they big day at Trump Winery (I can’t express how much I love this venue). Just knowing how fun Lindsey and Steven are plus all the unique and personal details they planned on having, I knew it was going to be a truly gorgeous and memorable day.

These two met playing dodgeball! Steven was the captain of the team and it’s safe to say that they hit it off pretty quickly (if you have ever met them, you immediately get it). It was fun to see the little dodgeball friends community at their wedding – it was a huge presence and there were even other couples that met each other the same way! Because of their love of wine, Lindsey and Steven knew that a vineyard was their dream venue and wanted to carry out a wine theme throughout the rest of the day. Their guest book was a wine barrel monogrammed with an F (so cool to have the featured in your future home!). They had a special wine box at the altar with them during the ceremony that they are going to put away for a year and open on their first wedding anniversary. Every guest got to leave with a monogramed wine glass too!

So many personal touches were made to really reflect Lindsey and Steven and their new future together. Steven made two wooden F wreaths on the barn doors, the F stain and date n the wine barrel top guest book, the etching on the wine glass favors, monogrammed drink stirrers, the welcome sign for the wedding, table numbers, signature cocktail signs, and thank you tags on the favors! He even home-brewed his own beer for their guests to enjoy.

One fun southern tradition they decided to partake in one month before the wedding consisted of burying a bottle of bourbon underneath the shade of the willow tree where they were going to have there ceremony. This is suppose to ward off rain (and it definitely worked!). Lindsey and Steven had really sweet tributes to their parents including using the same toasting flutes that Steven’s father and late mother used at their wedding. The cake cutting knife was the same one that Lindsey’s parents used at their own wedding.

This fall Trump Winery wedding was the perfect vineyard wedding to kick off the fall wedding season in Charlottesville. With the lovely yellow florals and Lindsey’s absolutely stunning dress, there were too many gorgeous details that were stunners. Enjoy this pretty wedding – it’s a new favorite!

Skyline Drive Engagement – Charlottesville Engagement Photographer

Skyline Drive Engagement – A sunny fall engagement session in the mountains of Virginia and Shenandoah Valley.

Elena and Ross are two sweet people with one of the sweetest loves. We met up this past weekend at Skyline Drive outside of Charlottesville (a place dear to their hearts) and headed out along the scenic drive to photograph these two in their element. They adore being outdoors (especially the mountains) and frisbee so finding a place where we were able to really capture all these loves was a top priority and Skyline Drive really hit the nail on the head.

The woodsy and colorful wildflower landscapes were a perfect backdrop for these two playful souls and seeing them together just warms your heart. They really are SO sweet. They are getting married this March in Charlottesville and I really can’t wait to capture their special day. After hearing some of Elena’s ideas for what she is envisioning I already know it’s going to be a stunning and super fun affair!

John Marshall Ballrooms Wedding – Richmond VA Wedding Photographer

John Marshall Ballrooms Wedding – A metallic infused Richmond, VA summer ballroom wedding.

Dana and John planned a gorgeous summer soiree this past Saturday at the John Marshall Ballrooms in downtown Richmond. This day could not have been prettier! The John Marshall already has so many stunning architectural details, and loving them so much Dana wanted to incorporate them into the wedding details with her beautiful metallic pieces found throughout the day in many forms. From some stunning bridesmaid gowns (check out the backs!!) to some seriously pretty heels that remind me of another decade, Dana completely transformed the John Marshall space into an area that it was definitely meant for! I loved every special touch – Dana even had a custom cake topper made to surprise John featuring the two of them in their wedding attire with a little Hokie bird poking out from behind to celebrate their time together and meeting at Virginia Tech.

These two lovelies met at Virginia Tech and started out just as friends. When they graduated, John moved to Texas and called dana to reconnect (pretty sure they were always destined to be more than friends!). Dana visited him and Texas and their love story started to unfold. Between long distance dating these two let their love grow across the country until they were able to finally join each other in Texas. John proposed to her in the same restaurant where they had gone on a date the first time Dana had visited! These two are so romantic, so sweet, and so adorable and the love they have for each other is the kindest. Dana’s smile lights up a room (she’s truly the sweetest) and it’s so obvious John is her soulmate. Congratulations you two!

Captain Bill’s Bayview House Wedding in Long Island, NY – NYC Wedding Photographer

Captain Bill’s Bayview House Wedding – A nautical waterfront summer wedding in Long Island, NY

You may remember Kellie and Ethan from their sweet spring Charleston, SC engagement. We explored the gorgeous Magnolia Plantation and Folly Beach and I am so honored to have traveled down south to capture these two for their engagement session and also to have gone all the way to Long Island, NY, to photograph their amazing wedding day.

These two are some of the sweetest people around, and with all the love from family and friends that arrived to show their support as they exchanged vows it was a really beautiful day despite the down pouring rain.

Kelli put a lot of personal touches into the day from choosing a soft teal for her bridesmaid dresses (her favorite color) to keeping a really light and airy nautical color scheme carried throughout the reception to embrace the location of Captain Bill’s Bayview House.  Surrounded by some gorgeous boats and yachts, it was a classic waterfront wedding that was simply a stunner.

This wedding embraced Kellie and Ethan’s passion for their heritage and hosted some really fun Irish dancing with the help of their amazing band – Dane Wright Band. They had some other unique Irish touches on the cake, invitations, and throughout the day to celebrate their love of their Irish heritage.

It was a beautiful day with two of the loveliest people around!
