Swimmer Portraits

18 Apr

Swimming has always been a massive part of my life ever since I was younger, even though I started out as that annoying student in swim lessons who wouldn’t leave the side of the pool unless Dad was securely holding me.  I have since left competing but am proud to say that I still enjoy teaching young kids, many of which start out just like I did, and I can sympathize with that.  I also have the biggest bragging rights ever by saying my sister is a future swimmer at William and Mary.  Serious skills.  So since I picked up photography I have always wanted to incorporate swimming into it in some way, and finally I have done just that.

From a recommendation I was introduced to Hannah and Ryan, two amazing individuals.  We spent some time in an abandoned classroom embracing our fierce competitor spirits and sharing swim stories.  Yeah, all swim lunatics.  But I LOVE it.  I always do something ridiculous with my models and this time it was spraying them in the face with water.  Gotta get that realistic feeling somehow.

Here’s some photos from the session.
