Heritage Hunt Country Club Wedding – Memorial Day Weekend wedding in Northern VA at Heritage Hunt Golf and Country Club – DC Wedding Photographer
Evan and Kelly had such a gorgeous Memorial Day weekend wedding in Northern VA at Heritage Hunt Country Club this past Saturday. They had an outpouring of love from family and friends that packed pretty much every pew in the church (their ceremony was so sweet) and these people made their reception a really exciting one! I have known Evan since high school and being able to witness his wedding day was super special – Kelly is such a sweet soul, and every little detail in their wedding made it very unique and very them (which is why I loved it).
These two met while they attended college at William and Mary. Evan was a transfer sophomore student and Kelly was a junior at the time. Kelly was a part of the swim team at William and Mary and so was Evan’s long time friend Sidney Glass, who Evan had decided to live with upon transferring schools. Through Sidney, these two met and sparks flew!
While they were only together at William and Mary for 2 years, they loved every bit of Williamsburg and spending time there. Kelly left for VCU to take part in PT school and Evan took a gap year after college, so they were able to see each other pretty frequently!! Evan started at American University in DC for his Masters in Spanish (coincidentally right near Kelly’s parents’). Even though he lives in Richmond he would come up 1 day a week for class and on the weekends to visit. Now that they are married they are definitely looking forward to being in the same city!
Kelly and Evan are two super active people. They both grew up swimming and while Evan switched over to cycling, Kelly continue throughout her college career. Evan not only loves cycling, he’s pretty handy and even built Kelly’s bike so they can go out together! Cycling is so important to these two that they wanted to include a lot of different bike elements throughout their wedding from the favors to a very gorgeous floral decorated bike in the reception area, etc. It really gave the reception a vibe of “them.”
There were other really special details throughout the wedding as well. Kelly’s veil was made by her sister – this piece was so gorgeous! It went along perfectly with her crystal hairpiece and all the glitz and lace on her dress. Kelly’s Italian grandmother and aunt also made some incredibly delicious cookies that were literally devoured within minutes by the guests. They were gorgeous to look at, but even sweeter to eat. These two had so many fabulous family and friends from all stages in their lives come to show their love on their big day, and it was so amazing to see. Congrats you two!
