VA Wedding Photographer – Rainy Day Wine Themed Lake Anna Wedding
When rain threatens to literally dampen your day, you have to embrace it. Tracy and Grant have two of the most optimistic and sweet spirits and when they knew it was likely going to rain the entirety of their day, they did just that – they embraced it. They purchased colorful umbrellas for the bridesmaids and groomsmen to share and a classic white and black one for Tracy + Grant to share for a more classic and elegant look for some portraits. You can turn what appears to be a dire situation into something so unique and so fun, and as a result they have some pretty stellar photos with their bridal party!
Tracy had a gorgeous lace wedding dress that flattered her figure perfectly, and when set against the gorgeous landscape along the lake and other natural areas she really looked like she had just stepped out of a Southern bridal magazine. The Grant and all his groomsmen had super dapper grey suits that were an awesome change from the standard black. The shift from black to other colors is super exciting to see, but at this wedding it just simply went along with the tone of their wedding perfectly! I also simply adored the bridesmaids in their navy lace – lace for the bride and her maids!
Despite the fact that the rain was at it’s heaviest during the ceremony, you were still able to see a bit of the lake in the background. It also made for a more intimate setting as everyone had to squeeze in due to tighter quarters! These two shared vows so sweet that there were quite a few people tearing up in the crowd (we know because we also shot their wedding video!). I don’t know how often most people watch their ceremony videos, but I could honestly say Tracy and Grant’s is one that I could watch over and over – it was the sweetest!
The reception was wild, an ice cream bar was substituted for a cake (totally fine by me!) and the rain finally subsided for the married couple and guests to partake in a viewing of fireworks as well as a gorgeous sparkler send off. Good things do come to those who wait and to good people, and Tracy and Grant are some of the best I know.
