Richmond VA Wedding Photographer – Intimate English Garden Elopement – Sabot at Stony Point
There are few things more intimate than an elopement – and that’s why I adore them so much. Serena and Lawrence came together in marriage this past Sunday (they are the sweetest of sweet, no other can compare). When you meet couples like these two, you get the warm fuzzies because in their presence you truly realize love knows no bounds or distance. They are simply each other’s person and perfect for each other, and when you see how they make each other laugh and cuddle you know it’s the real deal! Seriously, their snuggling is on point!
These two lovelies met online when Serena sent Lawrence a message asking if he “always cooks traditional French dishes.” He messaged back later that day and the conversation continued until 3 AM UK time! Safe to say Lawrence was smitten from the start, as the next day he messaged her again and they had their first Skype chat. They heard each other’s voices for the first time and Serena thought this English lad was pretty darn charming! They never stopped talking from that moment on. Serena + Lawrence believe the distance drew them closer emotionally because they had to rely heavily on communication.
After 6 months of long distance dating, Serena finally made her way across the pond and met Lawrence – needless to say, these two were crazy for each other! On October 17th, 2015, Lawrence took Serena to Hyde Park in London and proposed!
Their sweet elopement was such a gorgeous, intimate affair helped by the efforts of a great collective of wedding professionals. When I arrived, Lawrence was putting his personal touches to the tablescape – he wanted everything to be perfect! He even made a little candlelit walkway for Serena to walk through on their way to their mini reception after the ceremony. This guy does hearts and flowers.
Despite the call for rain, the sprinkles held off until the entire event was over and Serena and Lawrence were able to enjoy a lovely afternoon together in a charming English garden behind the Sabot at Stony Point building. The location was perfect to tie into Lawrence’s English heritage.
I adore these two (especially the fact that they walked down the aisle together!) and I hope you show them some love because their day is something truly gorgeous and special.
